Transport: Swakeleys School Hillingdon

Hi,

I wonder if there is someone here who is able to help.

We live in Pinner and my daughter is starting Secondary School this year. Our chosen school is Swakeleys School in Hillingdon (off Long Lane).

There are no direct transport links from Pinner to the school and doing drop-offs and picks ups every day would be a challenge for us.

I wonder if there are any other parents here who are in a similar situation and would consider carpooling service with us or are aware of alternative means that we can consider?

Thanks.

Hi OP so sorry I am not in area so cannot help directly. I see the school is about six miles away, is that correct? Presumably you were aware of the distance when you put it as a preference?

Do other students go there from your area - what do they do to get there? I presume there must be a bus or maybe two she could take? Travelling by public transport to secondary school is quite usual, even if there is a change of buses and a walk involved.

Metropolitan line from Pinner to Harrow on the Hill & then change & Metropolitan line back to Hillingdon? Or bus to Rayners Lane & then Metropolitan line to Hillingdon?
Or drop them at Eastcote (or a bus depending on where in Pinner you are) & then it's an easy journey to Hillingdon.
The school hasn't moved since you applied. What was the plan? There are a lot of good schools around Pinner, it seems an odd choice to travel so far, but presumably there is a good reason for it.
