How do you manage your rage?

When behaviour is awful and relentless and you've tried everything in the book...how do you climb down from Mt Ragerest? I used to get home and forget in the early days but now I'm so unbelievably raged out I don't know what to do!

Raging at your child’s behaviour do you mean?

If you are a teacher like me I try to remind myself that it is just a job and that there are more important things in life. It is very hard though. I have seen one of my colleagues in tears today. It is just appalling.

I'm fighting tears 75% of the days I work. I hate my job currently. I've been pushed to the point I've broken and I am so litterally angry I could explode, really struggling to watch my mouth far too often. I've been given a very shit timetable and I've never been this angry about the situation in my life. It's compounded by personal problems and I am on antidepressants but FML they're not enough.

You might be better putting this in The Staffroom if you're a teacher. That's where the teachers hang out. You can report your post and ask MN to move it. Sorry you're having such a shitty time right now.

It sounds like you need to go to your doctor and get signed off. You cannot keep going into school and dealing with kids if you are on the edge of doing something potentially unprofessional.

Also talk to your union about your very shit timetable if your HOD won't address it.

I’m not a teacher but when I have had jobs that made me feel this way I have left those jobs.

I had to retrain completely in my 40s but it was worth it and now I have options and control over my life.
