Bishop's Stortford College Senior Boarding

My son got the offer for Year 9 Senior Boarding and he is sporty and moderately academic. I am looking for a school that can push him harder to achieve more.

Any ex-parents or current parents can share views about the school?

My children are still in the Prep School and BSC is fantastic. So many sporting opportunities and very academic without feeling pressurised. Teaching is of the highest quality and they know how to get the best out of all of their pupils.
I’m afraid I can’t speak first hand about the senior school or boarding experience but internal opinion is extremely positive. Whilst league tables do shift they currently have a very positive academic reputation and are in high demand as a result. The School is incredibly oversubscribed when compared with Haileybury, St Edmunds or Felsted. Naturally less so when compared with some of the Cambridge or London schools and how competitive those regions can be.
Are you making a decision between The Bishops Stortford College and elsewhere?
Hopefully someone will reply with a recent Senior School experience.
