Android air tags for school bags?

Hello, year 7 DD lost her PE kit on the bus a couple of weeks ago and is not great at looking after stuff generally. Has anyone found air tags for android or similar useful for tracking down lost stuff? Any recommendations? I have a Samsung Galaxy and the rest of us Motorola phones - don't want to move to apple. Thanks

There are similar tag systems for the Android operating system, which is what your other phones are running on.

Android have only released their equivalent to the Apple system this week and the tags aren't available yet. There are ones like the Tile ones but they don't operate on the same sort of system - I think they are Bluetooth rather than using other Android phones (which is what the Apple system does).The Android Find my Device tags are not available yet, although I believe there are some that only work with Samsung.

The kangaroo ones just work by someone having to scan the QR code if they find it, that why they are cheap, there's no actual technology involved. It might well work for list bags in a school, though.

Can you tell I've been researching this? 😂
