Hello, dd due to start secondary in September and she's done maths at Kumon for the past two years

Has anyone carried it on to secondary and is it still helpful?

I'm debating letting her stop due to more homework etc :)

Still going here in Y10 & Y8 - they both started age 5... DS was at a special speech and language school and was going to transition into mainstream, and an Ed psych recommended Kumon to catch up which is how we came to it. DD was fascinated by numbers of a young age and asked to do it when she saw her brother doing it.
It's been beneficial for both of them in quite different ways. DD is somewhat a maths prodigy and is three years ahead n level K age 13. She's just sat the UKMTJMO for the second year in a row and Kumon has allowed her to move at a pace that suits her not the pace that suits the rest of her school class.
DS, 15 is also on level K and has progressed at a slower pace than his sister. Rather than helping him race ahead, it has just supported the maths that he's been doing in school and works best for him when Kumon reinforces what he's learned in class. Level J is particularly strong on factorisation and really comes into its own for GCSE and beyond.
I never thought we carry on this long, but I'm really glad we haven't stopped it. Whilst it's unusual, we have noticed on our zoom sessions that there are a number of older teenagers who still do Kumon. We never used to see them when we attended a Kumon centre after school but they are out there. Our Kumon Centre didn't really support secondary school hours and my kids have carried on attending virtually since the pandemic which works much better for us. We're also using the digital format now so I no longer have to mark - joyous!
