Lost GCSE art folder (year 10)

DS has left his art folder on the tube with all his year 10 work in it. Reported it missing, has anyone else been in this situation? What's the advice-does he redo it? We have photos of most of the pages...

Not sure about the.work... sorry.

Have you posted on local Fbook groups, Nextdoor and Twitter? They seem to work to reunite stuff.

Oh my goodness. This is bringing back memories. All the design and tech folder left on the bus. We did get it back from the depot eventually. It is worth posting everywhere as pp suggested, but also contact TFL lost property.
It is my understanding that lost/left items are often removed and handed in at the end of the line station so definitely worth approaching a staff member at the station where he got off.

DS1 lost one whole portfolio. He had to recreate it which involved long hours in the art department.

I hope you get it back!

Angelofthenortheast · 13/06/2023 16:03

Ask the school. You might be able to print out the photos and submit them.

In the meantime, get recreating! Or get AI to do it, and then rework the AI stuff to humanise it - that's what I'd do.

noblegiraffe · 13/06/2023 16:14

Please don't use AI to generate your art coursework!

Thanks for your advice, I think he might end up redoing it over the summer hols if it doesn't turn up. Have to admit wouldn't have any idea how to get AI involved, think it might have to be hard graft, which won't be popular Shock

Does the folder have the name of his school on it? If so it's possible someone might return it to the school. Otherwise tfl lost property is the place to search.

Needmorelego · 13/06/2023 17:10

Oh dear. A girl near where I live did similar. Her parents were giving an £100 reward but I don’t think they ever got it back.
I assume you have contacted TfL already. If not do it NOW.
Get some posters printed up to put up on lamposts etc near all the tube stations on the route.
Posters up at school incase other pupils saw it.
Local Facebook, school Facebook, any school WhatsApp - post on there.
Contact the school asap so they know and can advise.
You say you have photos - get them printed asap (just incase they get accidentally deleted or something.
Big giant fingers crossed for you 🤞

MrsHamlet · 13/06/2023 17:18

Speak to the school asap and let them know. They may be able to advise.

pickingupallthepieces · 13/06/2023 18:10

School are aware, they seem to think it may turn up, a couple of others have already lost their folders this year and both turned up within a couple of weeks. School name and phone number inside so let's hope we're as lucky as the other students...

If it doesn’t turn up, ask the school about creating open online portfolio using the pictures you have. DD’s school only use online portfolios, even DD2 in year 7 have online portfolios

Stopsnowing · 14/06/2023 09:43

Go to the tube station and ask staff there. Go to the end diestination station and ask there. Post on local Facebook groups. Go to the lost property where it would be sent even. Actually get him to do all this. Except the Facebook social media part. Also fill in online list property forms.

Applesarenice · 14/06/2023 18:23

Teacher here. If it is lost by the student you can’t apply for special consideration, but you can submit photos and can gain credit. Well done for having it photographed!

Thank you that's useful to know. In your opinion is it worth trying to redo the portfolio work at home, as much as he can? I actually don't know what they submit for the assessed coursework/portfolio element. Is it everything?
