English Language- Creative Prose

Help needed please. Ds really struggles with English. He is doing the Eduqas paper next week. I understand that he has to prepare a creative prose. I’m so confused as how does he do this when he doesn’t know the title. Looking at past papers I fail to see how you can shoe horn an idea into a title? A few years ago they had : the wedding, a memory of primary school, the time that you broke the rules. How can you write a story that can fit any title?

He doesn't have to pre-prepare something.
Some kids do pre-prepare sections that they, if flexible enough, can use.
For example a description of a person, or tree, or house or a story they can adapt.

Where has your 'understanding' come from? If his school have recommended it, they may have helped him on this already?

It isn't something we have ever tried for DD as she would have just stressed about how to include it. That said she hasn't passed yet. Grin

What Teen said. They aren't meant to prepare (and remember?) the prose.

I'd check back with your DC to make sure exactly what it's been suggested they do.

I don't examine this spec but rather than trying to learn something that won't fit, you need to be really clear how the marks are awarded. That way, you write with those features in mind. That's what I teach my students.
