Does anyone have a child at TRS and can tell me if your child is doing well and happy there?

Also, if anyone has a SEN child, how is the SEN support?

Thanks!

I'd be really grateful for any feedback at all - good or bad!

Hi! I can help a little, I have many colleagues and friends who have children at TRS and are mostly happy with their progress.
They have put in a lot of extra pastoral care/SEN over the last year since the new head from Langley Boys joined the school.

TRS tends to be feared by those who think of it by its past reputation but loved by those who attend.
They have a new very robust behaviour policy in place which has had a positive impact on the level of structure within the school and the sixth form results predicted this year have immensely improved possibly putting them up there with the best results in the borough but we will see?!

There seems to be a lot of snobbery around TRS but only from those who have completely dismissed the idea of sending their children to TRS. However TRS was so over subscribed this year, they have had to take extra children unlike other local schools.

It does have the same level of problems as do all schools , but they seem to be much better at managing these more problematic matters than before the new head started. They have similar problems to Hayes School after speaking with friends with children attending.

I do hope this helps.

It definitely shed it's reputation. Our old neighbour was a police officer for school liasion. She actively told us not to send our DD there if we can avoid it.

That was 5 years ago. From what I heard from parents whose children only recently joined is that the whole atmosphere improved, issues are dealt with differently and behaviour improved as well.
