Help to get dd back into school

Please no judgement. Dd is not attending school and has not for a year. She’s autistic and has complex needs and learning difficulties. I removed her from school before secondary school started as they wanted her to attend a mainstream school against my wishes (no I did not appeal) my plan was to home educate but this isn’t working out and dd wants to go back to school but can’t go to a mainstream school. Her annual review is coming up and I am going to challenge this and appeal but I’ve been told it will take up to a year? Is this correct? Dd is desperate to go back to school and asks me daily to return to school (she has 3 younger siblings all still in school so obviously hard for her) is this the right thing I’m doing and it takes a year? Just checking this is correct? (No suggestions of sending her to mainstream)

Following the AR if the LA refuse to amend or amend but refuse to name your preference you should appeal and inform SENDIST DD is out of education as these appeals are prioritised. The wait is still long but not quite as long.

If you no longer wish to EHE inform the LA you are not EHEing and they need to make arrangements to provide anything detailed, specified and quantified in F (although I suspect it is vague and woolly so unenforceable) and provide a suitable, full time education. If DD can’t attend school this can be otherwise than at school.
