Hi there, My DS is currently in Y9 in Westminster school as a day pupil. He is an only child and we have never considered the boarding option. He has a commute of one hour to school. So, for all 6 days of school, he is on train 2 hours every day. By the time he is home, which varies between 6-7pm, he is completely exhausted and it is heartbreaking to see him so tired. He loves the school and has never complained about the commute but we can see that it is putting a toll on him - especially his sleep. We are considering boarding and would be very grateful if any parents with DS in Westminster boarding can share their experience.
