Hi…Just wondering if anyone is going to Invicta grammar school, Maidstone from Dartford, Gravesend. Please do let us know your commute options.

Gosh that's quite a journey, I live in the nearby area and have friends with dd's at Invicta. Dd has quite a few friends there in years 7 & 8. It's probably an idea to join the local Facebook groups and the Invicta parents group if you're on Fb and ask there too. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions about the local area and I can also ask friends with dd's there.

Just curious really, do they select girls from outside of the Maidstone area based on top scores in the 11 plus? Also do you have to live in Kent to be offered a place?

Thanks a lot for getting back to me !! Looks like there could be an inside catchment and outside catchment area based on the allocation of seats. To be honest I’m not really sure if they select based on top score outside the area

How can I get into invicta parents group on FB? I really want to know , invicta will not consider if you're live outside Maidstone area even you got the high scores?

Invicta isn't score-based, apart from needing to have passed the Kent Test.

Oversubscription criteria in the 2024 entry admissions policy:

a) Looked after children and children who were previously looked after...
b) Current Family Association – a sister or brother attending Invicta Grammar School at the time the child starts...
c) Medical, Health and Special Access Reasons...
d) Children in receipt of Pupil Premium...
e) Children of Permanent Members of Staff ...
f) Nearness of children’s home to school ...

(Tie-break for equal distance is random selection - not score - but where the last place splits qualified twins etc, then both are admitted).

As it's an academy would probably have to contact thr school itself to ask about the criminal under which the last offer was made in recent years, as this info doesn't appear to be in the Secondary School admissions booklet on the KCC website.

Reviews on Invicta from personal experience
As a parent with child at this school, I can give you a review that'll guide you through a decision you are about to make or perhaps already made. Not all that glitter is gold. Don't get fascinated by the school outlook. ...school office looking like a consultancy firm look deeper into the experience of the students and the wholesomeness of your amazing daughter that you have raised well thus far. From my experience, I can rate this school less than zero if possible as it lack the fundamentals of a happy child as a high performing child. The school do not care about the mental and the emotional wellbeing of the students. It only care about the grade your child is able to earn the school. There is no established Pastoral support in place and your child will be conditioned into a grade producing and assignment processing human being lacking the emotional, mental and physical support for a sustainable future and overall well-being. Your daughter will get continuous anxiety to not get sanctioned from homework of 4hrs per day, your child will then become sad, temperamental and begin to exhibit behaviours that she could not also explain due to stress. Having raised a child that is doing great in Uni likewise finished from a different grammar school, I could clearly see the failure of Invicta grammar school in providing appropriate support for students. The school is so locked up in its public image to the detriment of the student. Your daughter would be treated like a full-grown adult. The school will ask for your review but not anonymously so you can not give honest feedback as they will witch hunt your daughter to make mistakes or set your daughter up to gather evidences behind the parents to serve severe punishments.

Please please so not take your amazing daughter to this school.

I’d be happy with others’ views, too as we’ve been offered a place here as well.
