Does spelling matter for maths GCSE?

Hoping @noblegiraffe will see this, but anyone else is welcome to chip in.

In maths GCSE (foundation paper) if you are asked to name the type of triangle e.g. isosceles or quadrilateral e.g. parallelogram, the spelling doesn't matter does it as long as it is obvious which word they were going for?

Yep, there aren't any marks for correct spelling so I think as long as it's clear and would sound right, it's ok.

Thanks. The MathsWatch programme is picky and it temporarily made me doubt myself.

That's probably a programming issue rather than anything else!

To be fair DD does have quite eccentric spelling. Grin
It normally starts off OK, wanders off in the middle, but gets back to the right ending.
If I was programming it I'd probably allow for a 1 or 2 character difference but not more. (We had a similar issue with Seneca in y10).
