Secondary Schools in Lewisham

Hi all!
My son is starting secondary school soon 🫣. He’s autistic but functions ok in mainstream however can be quite anxious. He’s a little behind his peers academically speaking but would not quite qualify for the SEN schools I think.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice, good or bad regarding secondary schools in Lewisham or close by? 🙏🙏

I’ve been on visits to Trinity, Thomas Tallis and Bonus Pastor so far but am struggling to decide what’s best for him.

Looking for a school with good pastoral care and that is very inclusive to take care of my lovely, sweet lad who’s a little young for his age. All advice much appreciated! Thank you 😊

I worked as an SENTA in Lewisham until last summer. I have no direct recent experience of Lewisham secondary schools (my DC are in their late 20s) but parents spoke well of the pastoral care at Deptford Green so might be worth a look there. On the other hand, I would caution against Haberdashers' based on the SEN children I know who went there (their support to one particular child with ASD was appalling).

Namechanged for this. I have an autistic son too, though he is now grown up. I have heard really good things about Thomas Tallis and Bonus Pastor. Also Deptford Green and Prendergast Ladywell. Someone recently said their daughter was doing well at Sedgefield.

If you're not a member there is a parent support group in Lewisham called SIGNAL Family Support. It has a good facebook page, you would probably get good advice there.
