Hi! Could someone Please explain to me........
I have just received a email from the school saying my daughter has been recognized as a High Prior Attainer she is currently in Year 10 (KS4) due to health reason she has had a lot of time off school the last few years so i was a bit miffed, anyway by what i can see by googling is this is decided by her KS2 results so Year 6 when she is actually at Primary School so along time ago (4 years)
Am i reading this correct? I have been worrying and asking the school for help with work she can do at home so she dont fall behind with no success. so i am wanting to know if any of you know the answer is the High Prior Attainer just based on her primary school years (KS2) or do they take into consideration all the years and results in between and am i just worrying about her falling behind for nothing ?
Thank you

It depends on the school.

But league tables use low/medium/high attainer terminology based on KS2 SATS results. Schools are also judged on a student's progress based on this starting point, which is why they care :)

So she probably is behind then hence why they want me to go to a workshop to try and get her back up to the level she started at then, email says the workshop is to show how i can support my child & how the school supports HPA pupils plus help them prepare for university.....i cant see them wanting to help if its not for their own gain lol!
Thank you for answering

And this is why SATs in y6 matter.

Is this for all prior higher attainers, or just the ones falling behind?
