Aptitude tests for year 7 entry

I have found out a local School has not admitted any applicant under their 'aptitude ' test criteria for the last 4 academic years. They still conduct the tests every year therefore giving false hope to parents that their kids might be admitted. Is the Academy allowed to continue doing this? I feel parents should be made aware of this from the outset so that they can make a decision as to whether they need to do the test or not otherwise its a waste of everyone's time.

I think you will need to provide a bit more information.

Are the 'aptitude' places lower ranking than other admissions criteria for this school (eg looked after children, siblings, catchment, feeder schools etc)? It's not uncommon for popular schools not to reach the later criteria.

Is place allocation data from previous years freely available online, from the school or local authority website?

Are you willing to name the school, or at least paste the admissions criteria here?

Knowledgeable people such as @prh47bridge and @PanelChair will, I'm sure, be happy to advise, but it would be useful to know a bit more detail.

What is the aptitude in? Music, sport, Art, languages etc?
