Higher level IB maths

Has anyone's DC achieved a 7 in higher level IB maths (analysis and approaches).

If so what would be their tips for success?

I am worried my year 12 DS is spending so much time on maths he is neglecting his other subjects. But I have been told this is "normal". I have no clue as my older DS did AL

DD got a 7 last year. I don't recall her maths revision dominating every other subject. I know it was really tough though. She did a lot of past papers.
