Hi,
Our son has recently got a place in year 7 at Ermysted's Grammar School, Skipton. We are new in this area and would like to connect with other families who have boys studying in Ermysted's (or scheduled to start in Sep 2023). Thanks in advance.

Sorry we're not that area...but have you looked to see if there is a school Facebook page or parents association page? I know the school we've been offered have had multiple posts from new parents asking questions about all sorts x

When my son joined he didn't know anyone and soon made friends...grammars are good at this as they're used to children coming from all over and not necessarily many from each school. Ours took dc from 91 diff schools other year (180 places)

Congratulations to your son and good luck.

Hi @cfc95 , I have a DS at the school (currently y7).

There is a parents association page on Facebook.

Happy to answer any questions Smile

Thanks @UsernameOfMine - reassuring to know that not knowing anyone is not uncommon.
@LittleMissGlum : thanks a lot. I will message you. We are currently renting in Addingham and wondering if we should look at Skipton or along the school bus route.

@cfc95 have replied to pm.
I wouldn't worry about living outside of skipton as quite a few boys travel in from various areas.
The buses run along various routes, and quite a lot use the trains.
Hope that helps :)

Thanks @LittleMissGlum

@cfc95 hope you managed to connect to some families with boys starting in September. I believe they have some transition days coming up soon- it's nice to get a feel of the school before actually starting Smile

Thanks @LetMeSleepUntilTheCowsComeHome . We have managed to find another family (they live in Guisely though) and have met once. And yes, we are eagerly witing for the parents' evening and transition day later this month.
