Integrated studies- y7

I was wondering if anyone else's dc has integrated studies lessons?
Is it similar to PHSE? So far they've talked about a variety of topics, from dictatorship to making friends.
These lessons take place once a fortnight, but everyone I speak to seems confused by this, and have never heard such subject at secondary level.

Do they have PHSE as well? If not, that's probably the main content, although they're maybe adding in other topics as well.
There's nothing to stop a school having different subjects, as long as they are covering the national curriculum. There may even be a big advantage to having a slot which can be used flexibly to address issues within the class or current affairs.

They don't have PHSE, I assumed it is basically same content.
Was just curious to see if any other schools also had integrated studies
