My daughter has received an offer for a Year 7 spot in September, we are not local (my Mum is) so My DD would have to board a few night per week. Does anyone one else have any experience and how have your DD's settled in/coped?
In practice does the flexi boarding work or are the girls then expected to be there on Saturdays for fixtures etc?

DD is weekly boarder at Roedean. The year 7-9 fixtures aren’t on a weekend. Year 10/11 are Saturdays but not every girl is in a team. Some school production rehearsals also take place on a weekend, open days on Saturdays are mandatory, unless you have reason not to attend and some girls who live too far away do get excused. But mainly DD is home on a Friday.
DD settled in really well very quickly and I can’t recommend the school highly enough. A really happy place, dedicated and accessible staff who really care.

I am a weekly boarder at Roedean. It’s a lovely school and the flexi boarders are definitely well integrated. There are 5 flexi boarders in my year and a few more weekly. I only joined in September but the teaching standard is amazing and so so so much to do outside the school day. The house staff are particularly exceptional and they really make you feel at home. Best of luck making this decision!
