Hampton School bus experience from Woking or Ascot

Hello Hampton parents whose son going to Hampton school and taking the school bus either from Ascot or Woking, I would like to know how the travel is, average travel times and do they run late buses ( i.e post after-school clubs).

Sorry for not giving the background to my above question. My DS got offers from Hampton & RGS, moving out of Fleet is our last option, so finding out whether feasible transport is a possibility.

For RGS, so many RGS boys are taking train from Blackwater ( 20 mins train) and would like to go with that option however DS likes Hampton plus few of his Cricket friends will be starting Hampton from sept 2023.
So I am exploring whether travel to Hampton from Fleet is a possible option or is it time not worth an option at all. Honestly I don't like long journeys..

Your feedback would be very crucial. Thanks.

My ds is at Hampton, when he joined his class had 2 boys on the Ascot bus and it's very quick but they lived near the bus stop. I don't think it's realistic to live in Fleet, you have to go to the school quite a lot to pick up from trips etc and if he plays cricket you will have winter nets plus cricket club and then matches. There is a late bus but it's run by LEH, it's very limited, for example the last stop in my direction is Ember Lane and it's very expensive. Ask admissions for the details.
I'm sure your ds would be happy at RGS and see his cricket friends at the weekend. There is little difference between the schools academically.

My DD is at LEH and goes to school by school coach which shared with Hampton.

Some families drive to bus stop every morning/afternoon to drop off/pick up kids but even the nearest bus stop from Fleet seems to be long journey. I am afraid it’s not realistic unless you drive to Hampton everyday. Because you have another great option, I don’t find much benefit to send him to Hampton over RGS.

Hi @sailingsunshine , thank you very much for realistic view. Yes, practically it's very very difficult to manage especially when late clubs and matches .. very valid point about cricket nets which my son wouldn't want to miss.

Thanks for reassuring about RGS. It really makes me light and bringing clarity about RGS.

Yes, very much possible that he can still see his friends at Esher Cricket Club in the weekends.

Thanks @Blueocean123 , relying on school bus or public transport seems unrealistic. Driving to school is an option as it takes 30 mins only on M3 but we can't trust motorways. If something goes wrong then we will get stuck for hours .. so again driving to school is not at all an option practically...

Thanks for reassuring about RGS and we are almost certain with RGS now .

I will update once it's become 100%.

Thanks again for your time and help.
