KCS 13+ conditional offer

Sorry to ask this question which may be too obvious for most. We got this "conditional offer", which says entry to year 9 is by means of (which I think it means conditional on?) 2 satisfactory head teacher's reports, one in year 7 and one in year 8.

What is meant by "satisfactory" and are there any specific requirements from KCS that it might at the end say the reports are not satisfactory enough? Or was it rare that despite the head being supportive, KCS still needs to further look into it or just say no?

I also noted on the website that says one of the conditions is to attain 65% in CE exams but in the offer letter, it said the exams (if taken, which also meant not mandatory?) are just for setting purposes. Does it mean the website is simply not updated and anything we haven't quite noticed?

This 13+ thing is completely strange to us, and I apologize if I asked a silly question for some in the know.

Don't worry about it. It's just their insurance policy in case your son starts slacking off, failing his classes, etc because he thinks he's got an offer at Kings. Unless he really screws up it's just a formality.
