pre test 13+ or 13+ entry

Hi everyone, I am a bit confused with regards to 13+ entry. Do most of the schools have pre test for 13+ entry? Or there are schools which have fresh and bigger intake at 13+ entry point? As I understood from some that the numbers of kids entering at 13+ goes really less?
