Godolphin & Latymer - please help

Hi there, does anyone have experience of being placed on the waitlist at Godolphin & Latymer? Is there hope? Do they tell you where your daughter sits on the list?

I do know that some turn down G&L for other schools, such as SPGS or LU (some prefer coed). I am not sure how much movement is on the WL. I know someone that has a spot, but also a 20% scholarship somewhere else, and considered the fees at G&L are on the higher side of private secondaries, that is a huge amount to save each year....so students in that position might decide to save the 8k a year and selecting the other alternative. I would email and call to express your interest. If it is your first choice, I would say something like we are willing to put the deposit down now if a space turns up, so they know how serious you are. Good luck!

Hi there, you kindly replied to my post yesterday about the G&L waiting list. I didn’t post in the wider 11+ chat as I saw someone else posted the same and she didn’t get any replies. Just curious if you know how many girls end up on the waiting list, is there a rank when do we realistically hear back from G& etc. I called admissions last week and they said very little. Trying to figure out if we even have a chance. My daughter has a confirmed offer from FH but loves G&L. I’m nervous about the journey into London as we live in richmond. I was hoping this nightmare would be over last week 😭

Last couple years all the girls with wl places at our school turned into offers.

They almost certainly will go to WL, but how many WL places they offer depends on the year. From chatting to admissions a few years ago, G&L WL starts moving after offer holder events and once the SPGS WL has cleared (my understanding is SPGS has an earlier deadline and some girls with an offer at G&L but WL for SPGS will hold out for that).

We had an offer for G&L but found it v difficult to make up our minds. About a week before the deadline we started getting emails and calls from the admissions team asking us to make a decision asap so they could manage their WL and if it was a no make a WL offer before parents pay deposit at a different school. Annoying for us, but good for the WL girls. They do know how stressful this time is especially for those who are on the WL but would love a place at the school!

PS we did end up choosing G&L and are glad we did.
