Harris Westminster sixth form - how is it?

Does anyone have any experience of Harris Westminster sixth form? My child potentially has a tricky decision about whether to move there from a small, comfortable and good quality private school - a secure and easy sixth form life staying where he is vs. a maybe more interesting and inclusive (and cheaper!) environment! What should he consider?

Sorry another question about the Westminster angle. My sons who went to HWSF didn’t do Westminster subjects but my daughter would like to take one. We have been told that it is harder to get places on the Westminster courses (because fewer are available I expect) Did your son find out about acceptance onto all the courses at once, or was the westminster subject confirmed later?

I believe Westminster teach HWSF students music, drama and some ancient and modern languages other than French and Spanish - so small subjects. They do their own interview post-HWSF selection to confirm places for this. The offer is very good and well-resourced as you'd expect (though HWSF teachers seem to be generally excellent and very enthusiastic too), and the architecture of course unparalleled for a London school and a nice change from the HWSF office block. A fair amount of scurrying to and fro between the schools and often a need to go in for a lesson on Saturday mornings as Westminster timetables lessons most Saturday mornings - in addition to the HWSF Sat mornings which are mainly in Year 13. There can't be many better ways to meet the whole range of London teens, at least academically able ones, than this HWSF with a bit of Westminster arrangement - it's a good and interesting deal I think, if a little complicated to navigate.

If I remember rightly a Westminster interview was offered a week or two after the HWSF one, and the offer came through for both schools together. No idea how much they turn down people who have got into HWSF for their places.

Students need to be highly organised and accept that they will inevitably be late for the next lesson. The schools are close, but not that close.
