I am curious about Dundee High School secondary school. I have kids in St Leonards, but not sure if the IB would be suitable for them at year 12 & 13. Also, I am also not so sure about levels of academic achievement between the two and where the kids end up going / doing after leaving. My concern is whether my kids will get the grades they need to enter their choice of college/university and subject. I do understand that parent support is a factor in helping my kids and am ready to do that, but how much do I need to support them?

I had DC at St Leonards who did well in GCSE. I have had one DC who has stayed and is thriving at IB. It is a lot of work, you require good organisation and forward planning. There is a lot of homework. I have had another DC who left after GCSE and gone to Dundee High. They aren’t as academic and hated languages which must be done in IB. The Scottish higher system is suiting him much better. We have had friends who DC have left after GCSE and gone to Madras and thrived.
