Good Evening!
My husband & I along with our 9yr old daughter are relocating to devon. Husband has already had to move to start work & we are following shortly.

We are so undecided on areas and schools. We love the Topsham area but ideally wanted to be in the Kings School catchment but prefer Topsham area. May I ask peoples opinions on good secondary schools? My daughter has been offered a place at a primary school close by to Topsham. I have been told St Peter's in Exeter is very good? My daughter loves Dance, performing arts, singing, gymnastics etc. Any advice most appreciated as I am so torn from living in an area we prefer and suits my husbands commute to work better due to the M5 or to live in an area just for the sake of a very highly respected Secondary school?!
We just want to make sure we choose the best option!

Thank you 😊

No idea op, but I'll give your thread a bump!

Just a thought, it might help people if you say where your husband is working, as they can then make recommendations?

Topsham is a nice place with good links into Exeter. Guessing not in the King's catchment as lively slightly closer and we are out of catchment.

All/most of the Exeter secondary are all part of the tedd wragg academy. Other than St peters as this is c of e. Still early days for us there but dc seems to be getting on well in Yr 7. Others are probably Clyst Vale or Exmouth. Exmouth cc has a lot of students and I have heard mixed reviews. Some parents seem to be really happy while others less so, think it has struggled with ofsted.

Grammar options are colyton, Torquay and possibly churston although the latter might struggle with transport. I think both colyton and Torquay have buses from near Topsham, and I know Torquay is accessible from the train station there.

Know very little about the private schools.
