GCSE Resits - How does it affect Uni Application?

DD1 (Y12) is doing Physics, Maths and French A levels.

However didn't do as expected in English Language (4), so did a re sit in October 2022, and got an 8. Yes, I know massive jump Hmm

What will she need to put on her UCAs application - the re sit mark or her first attempt mark, or both?

TIA

BOTH results will need to go on her UCAS form.

Even if she didn't have to put both on her UCAS application, the uni would know it was a resit as they would be able to work this out from dates.

However, an achieved grade 8 is worth a lot- it's unlikely to be a problem.

If there were any extenuating circumstances that led to the resit, the referee should talk about them in the reference.

Oh good point about the dates - I'm American and DD1 is the oldest so not sure how the system works.

Not really any extenuating circumstances, just a really unexpected mark.... Hmm
