Questions re Slough Grammars

Hi all. I am looking for some advice. I hope this doesn’t offend…

Am single parent of a young primary school age Ds. Ex h is white, I am of S Asian descent. Ds mixed race but looks more Asian than white.

i am looking to move to the areas around west London/bucks and looking ahead, the Grammar schools in Slough are schools id like my ds to try for…specifically Langley and Upton Court.

i know these schools have a demographic of mostly Asian pupils. No problem with that, but what does concern me is that the Asian community can be judgemental and sometimes narrow in thinking. I have heard of certain cliques/sub groups in certain schools where students who don’t fit the small mould are ostracised or at worst bullied. I am worried about my son being subject to this, with being mixed race and having an Asian mother whom is divorced. I may be worrying unecessarily but welcome any thoughts/experiences. Thank you!

Have a look at Burnham Grammar - they are renowned for their pastoral care and have a good diverse student body including children from mixed parentage. My friend’s son is from the same racial background as your ds and is doing very well.
