Creating a thread for those with kids who are taking the Kent 11+ this September.

How are they getting on? Tutor or no tutor? Mine has a tutor once a month as we can't afford any more. Topping up with CGP books.

Have weekly tutor but DC struggles with time pressure situations so 🤷‍♀️😬

Sad to be asking them to do exam prep so young but don’t wanna move house either.

Can I ask anyone how they felt the Kent test went. Bit worried that my DD felt it was hard and made mistakes and everyone else feels it was easy!

My DS was scoring well in the GL practice mocks during the summer holidays but found the comprehension questions tough. And guessed a few of the new reasoning questions. We have heard a few other children say they found it easy which is worrying.

My DD had a similar experience with the exam. She felt it was easier than the mock test she took, but struggled with managing her time and couldn't attempt all the questions. I am quite nervous about whether she will pass, as she worked hard during her summer break. I don't want to see her in distress if she doesn't pass.

Does anyone know when the headteachers get sent the test result and headteacher appeals take place?

I’ve just been looking for this too, and can’t find it anywhere!
When my eldest did it, that date was part of the timeline for applications we were given, but I can’t see it anywhere this year. Perhaps the schools get so much grief from parents they’re keeping it secret?!
