Hi, my DD is currently in Y5, we are applying to 3 schools but only two have entrance exams. Do you think I should get a tutor? Also any good workbooks/papers? How much prep should we do in a day?

I’m new to the uk school system so if anyone can help thank you! 😄

Are they private schools? You'll be best getting a tutor who is familiar to the specific exam she'll be taking

It depends on the schools you are applying to. If it is a compétitive school to get into, then yes, a tutor is recommended and using atom learning or 11+ books.

It just depends on which schools you are applying to, which school your DC is at and whether they have a track record for those schools, your DC's attainment record and motivation and how much you are willing to so yourself (eg Bond and CGP books).

Depends on the school really

Yes. You'll need a tutor. Around by me in manchester the demand is high. In my year 5 class last year around 10-13 kids sat the test and only 2 achieved the high pass mark. These kids were bright and one missed out by a single mark.
