Group Interview Sevenoaks School

DC has an 11+ group interview early January at Sevenoaks. Does anyone have experience of this? I'd like to get an idea of the format and types of topics they ask about. Maybe I'm BU asking this close to Christmas but it's all that's on my mind 😩

They are really leaking their own sweet time !

I got pwd follow up email to open document but the document for result email has not come through

Sevenoaks editing list moves a lot post 1st March.

I heard that sometimes they do another set of exam in summer.
so I am 100% sure you will get it.

if we get our first choice we will unfortunately say no to Sevenoaks

Hi all. Does anyone have any insights into the girls boarding houses at Oundle and Sevenoaks schools? We visited both schools during open days recently and came away with quite different impressions: Oundle perhaps was more formal, structured and traditional, whereas Sevenoaks felt quite modern and homely. We are struggling to find a good way to chose with any confidence. Thanks!

For 13+ group interview, may I know about the format ? A number of candidates discuss on a certain topic raised by interviewer ? Thx

Hi everyone. I went quiet on the thread as I was so depressed DC didn't get a place. But they've now passed the Year 9 entrance test, so it's all come right in the end. @achenyo and @IndeCandidate which did you go for in the end? @Schoolingchoices73 and @PLee I hope you got the answers you needed from another thread.

@BrassyLocks - Sevenoaks was my test paper / mock for Westminster. We didn’t had any tutors for 11plus / pvt school exAm preparations. so we declined Sevenoaks. From our school children who were not academically great or didn’t get any 11 plus chose Sevenoaks so academically we were not impressed by school intake.

son cleared Westminster too but we were not impressed by school cost vs facilities or commute time . It costs a lot to send to pvt n it didn’t make sense to commit in today’s economic climate.

we decided local grammar school n it is absolutely our best decision . Son did great in year 7 n it takes 5 min to school in car , 30 min in bus . Best decision to chose local over commute to Westminster

We chose Eltham College. DC loves it there so we didn’t bother with Sevenoaks 13+ even though we signed up for it.

@IndeCandidate, we didn’t like Westminster too. Commute, facilities and the staff were not very welcoming. I am glad your DS is excelling.

I sent DC to state but they're hating it so a reapplication to Sevenoaks made sense for us. I found the staff very open and encouraging, compared to Admissions from certain other schools we considered. It will be a bit of a trek but DC is really looking forward to it.
