NATIONAL OFFER DAY

After much sitting on the fence we put grammer school as first choice, colyton. DD had an expected place should put as first choice. She was unsure about what school to choose but I think if she didn't get offered a place she would be disappointed. Broadly speaking what are the chances that she wouldn't get her first choice come offer day?

Depends on a lot of things. How close you are to school, if preference is given to siblings, special needs. You need to check the individual school preferences.

I think the OP means Colyton Grammar School in Devon, which gives places based on score in their test rather than distance. What was your score OP, and do you know the cut off score for previous years?

Score was enough for the school to expect dd to get a place, but admissions have kids in care and pupil premium above, that's the worry now that after 4 months she then misses out for one of these preferential allocations

I wouldn't worry about that- if the score would have comfortably got her in in previous years then you can be fairly confident of a place WinkSmile

Sorry, not sure how the Wink got there!
