Harrodian school

Looking at options for 2024 entry. I know zero about the Harrodian school but it's location is perfect! Anyone able to shed light on it- is it academic or more for all rounders? I assume it's less of a hothouse than the Hammersmith schools. How is the pastoral care?

It is a good school. The pastoral care is very good. The school is not a hothouse, but as any good school, it can accomodate high achievers.
I would suggest visiting the school to ask your questions and to imagine how your dc would feel there. If you live nearby, I would recommend to talk to your neighbours whose children go the school

If you are looking at 11+ entry, worth factoring that they do not have many places available.
We have applied for DD (to be honest, a significant driver was that exam is ISEB and she was already doing that for other schools) and liked it - thought that it would suit particularly a child with an interest in art / music. Our DD's indie seems to think highly of its pastoral care and focus on whole-child approach but also commented that it provide an environment for academic stretch and it seems to stand well in terms of academic performance / destinations. Location does not work very well for us but if it does for you, I will visit and try to find out more from parents with children there (or if you are at an indie, ask their views on the basis of your DC's personality)
