Just for general discussion. Please bear with me, if this seems silly.
DD is all girls' boarding school. Anti-bullying week. She keeps saying the school is telling the kids to resolve problems themselves and definitely not tell parents on issues of bullying. I wonder why they would say that. I appreciate that they want the girls to be independent and problem-solve themselves but not seeking help doesn't seem to make sense to me.
Cheers!

That's almost definitely not what the school are saying.

No school would tell students to keep bullying to themselves and not tell a parent, as if they did, that would be a monumental failure in safeguarding procedures.

It is far more likely that the school have tried to encourage the students to attempt to resolve it themselves first before going to a trusted adult and your DD has simply misinterpreted the message.

I would always take such alarming comments from children with a pinch of salt, but definitely ask the school to clarify what was said.

Thank you @andrew16 . Appreciate your reassuring reply. I did find it odd too when I first hear this from her.
