Harris Westminster Sixth Form

Does anyone have any recent experience of this school?

My dd was bullied in Y9 which was really badly handled by the school and she moved schools at the beginning of Y10. She's pretty okay now, although even thinking about sixth forms is distressing for her as she's terrified of coming across these same girls again.

She's just doing her mocks in Y11 and is adamant that she wants to apply for Harris Westminster Sixth Form. Her primary school was taken over by Harris and, actually, it was okay. The branding etc was annoying, but good teachers and lots of cash compared to other local state schools.

She's bright enough, but not very socially confident and generally shy. The school is about an hour away from where we live. Do children who go here cope with the travelling and having friends in other parts of London? Is it full of uber confident children with big social lives?

She knows there's an exam and interview involved, and she may not get in, so does need to keep her options open.

Has anyone had any recent experience of this school? Likely doing humanities and languages.

Hi - there are loads of different types of people at this sixth form, not just confident social ones. My sons’ friends seem to come from all over. There is a good academic mindset but I haven’t seen evidence of that being overwhelming- I can’t speak for everyone, of course.
