Anyone have any experiences of myTutor? DD's college has unilaterally signed her up for 6 sessions, but I have concerns.

Hi. I have some experience with them. What are your concerns? Do you mean safeguarding or the qualifications of the tutors?

I've hired a tutor from them and our school uses them too. Have you got any specific questions ?

Yes we used MyTutor for some extra GCSE tuition for my daughter and found it excellent. I would imagine it very much depends on the tutor you find though, but you do get a free 15 min meeting at the start to decide if you like them. I don't know how that would work with the school signing you up for it though.
what are your concerns?

My concern is my DD has slow processing suffers, from anxiety, and low stamina (has EHCP, missed y11).
I'm wondering whether a uni student online would try to go too fast / not give her time (given that she's had some in person teachers who are like that) and just not be gentle enough.
I'm wondering whether just 6 sessions is worth it in a small group of 3.
I'm wondering if the whole thing will be too much stress and overall not beneficial, she's only just coping with college as it is.

I want people to tell me that they've had fab people who have been well vetted for their skills and it will be OK. Smile
