Dressing for 6th form interview

DD has an interview for 6th form at a selective London independent tomorrow. They say dress 'smart casual'. Their 6th form does not have a dress code and is not a stuffy school. Help me settle an argument- can she wear (vaguely smart) jeans??

I would say "smart casual" would not normally include jeans. Can't answer for visiting a school in particular. It'd always say you are better to dress up than down, if in doubt, anyway.
