Under advanced level qualifications (level 3), is the avg results for ‘England all schools’ referring to both independent and state schools? The county comparison is identified as state-funded schools but I can’t tell if England all schools is also only state-funded schools?

It covers both independent and state schools, but it excludes independent FE colleges and international schools (and some other niche providers)

Thank you!

Is the advanced level qualifications based on 2019 data or more recent 2021-2022 data?

Is the advanced level qualifications based on 2019 data or more recent 2021-2022 data?

Just looked at the data for DS2's old school and it says 2021/22 for GCSE, but for the 16-18 data, there is the rider:

2019 data may no longer reflect a school’s current performance
Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, 2019 data is the latest available results data. School performance may vary yearly, and, due to the uneven impact of Covid-19 on pupils and schools, 2019 data may no longer reflect a school’s current performance.

which indicates that the A level data is from 2019?

Yes that's right. I presume that is because the 2022 A-level cohort received CAGs for their GCSEs in 2020 (the exams were cancelled due to Covid). So you can't really calculate value added / progress scores?

Key Stage 5 data isn’t published till the January after; so the 2022 data comes in January 2023. All the attainment (average grades) will be there but no progress data as, someone above said, they’re not using their GCSE CAGs to calculate it and 2023 (so 2024 publication) will be the same.
