School careers fairs

Hoping for some tips on how to make the most of these - DS in year 10 is going to one soon, they have a good range of universities and local-ish employers. DS has some idea of his preferred A levels, but not clear on university subject / option of degree apprentices. Most employers coming offer post A level apprenticeships and grad schemes.

What are peoples experiences of the best way to get value from a school careers fair, as opposed to vaguely drifting around and picking up some prospectuses?

Really depends on how school organises them - if it’s all the year in a hall at once for a slot you won’t get much from them on pure logistics, it’s more so the school can tick a box.
Employers he could ask what they offer, any deadlines or requirements.
Unis and colleges it would be more asking what they offer in the general area he’s interested in (e.g. what science courses and facilities do you have)
