My son is due to start at a boarding school come September 2023...but I'm getting the heeby jeebies about him going. His brother is already there and thriving and we just presumed that my 12 year old would follow on. So completely messed up and didn't put him down for any London day schools. However my 12 year old is a very different person from his brother and I'm not sure boarding would suit him. Soooo at this very late stage I'm scrabbling around to find a London day school option. Most of them have already given out their places and still have a waiting list. But I think I'd have a fighting chance of getting him into Wetherby. But its reputation is slightly as a last resort school...and just wondering if that's justified, or whether it's actually really good etc. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience. Equally am I missing a trick with another school that might have places still? We are west London, north of the bridge, so Harrodian etc are tricky to get to with Hammersmith Bridge being shut

What year will he be going into? You're probably ok for occasional places for the schools that have their major intake at year 7 eg Latymer, Ibstock etc. lots of kids walk both ways across Hammersmith Bridge so I wouldn't worry about that.
