Helloooo, I am looking for co ed boarding schools for my DS. Berkshire, Bucks and Surrey area. I have a couple in mind and will be going to open days but heard some horror stories. Anyone have any recommendations? Thank you!!

Off the top of my head:
Cranleigh
Charterhouse
Duke of Kent school
Stowe
Wellington

Then you can move towards Teddies in Oxford or over to Sevenoaks in Kent or down to Lancing College in Sussex, Bedales in Hampshire etc.

At one point we considered, for our DD as a day girl, a couple of schools that offer boarding and are co-ed: Hurstpierpoint and Andingly. Both of them seemed lovely.

My DS has very happy memories of Cranleigh from age 7-18 and was heavily involved with sport. DD joined as a day pupil for sixth form but changed to boarding within a couple of days as she felt so welcome. She had been at a smaller school and feels she’s being stretched both academically and socially and has come out of her shell. Beautiful grounds, nurturing environment and loads of sport, drama, music.
