GCSE marking review - for posterity

Just posting in case it is helpful for others next year. DS (who has asd) was 4 marks off a 4 for English lit (which would have given him 5 passes). School agreed to pay for a review of marking of one of the papers (poetry) which after many weeks came back at the same mark. They said we could pay ourselves for a review of the others but that they thought it fairly pointless. One of the papers came back with an additional 6 marks a week later. Pushed him over to a pass. Saddened that our ability to pay in these circumstances might make the difference to a pass or fail. But in our case made a difference between just that and the difference between the 4 and holy grail of 5 passes at GCSE.

Fabulous news Dancingbea. You must be delighted, but agree, it is really unfair for those not able to scrape the money together for DCs exam reviews. 😕
