My son is due to start secondary school in September 2023. We live in East Barnet and considering Ashmole Academy or East Barnet School for him. He is likely to be offered a place at Ashmole as he sat the music aptitude exam.
We recently attended the East Barnet open day and were impressed by the school. Unfortunately, we couldn't attend Ashmole open evening due to a family bereavement.
My son likes East Barnet and he has a few friends that may also go there. He is more of musical and intellectually curious child than an academic one. So, East Barnet may be a better fit for him. However, I am aware that Ashmole has better performance / grades on paper. I heard one or two mums also saying negative things about East Barne. I am just wondering if Ashmole will be a better option for him.
