Wondering if anybody can give me any information on how difficult it is currently to get into the senior schools of Stockport Grammar, Cheadle Hulme School and Hulme Hall?

When you say 'how difficult' do you mean how competitive in the exam? I know for Stockport Grammar that approx 550 childen sit it, 200 will get in but MANY of those will be aiming for a bursary place of which there are very few. Have you had your child look at the past papers? I don't think it's an exat science but I would imagine if they get 80%+ in those they would get in. It's probably lower than that in some cases but I think that's the standard expected for the 11+ grammar schools which obviously are similar.

Hulme Hall is definitely the 'easier' to get into option of your child is less academic from what I have heard but I haven't looked around myself. Stockport and Cheadle seem on a par.

SGS has reputation on for academic strength plus all the other perks of private: CHS more has the reputation that most reasonable bright rich kids will get in. Hulme Hall advertise a lot and is tiny so assume easy to get in
