ISEB and ISEB consortium test?! What’s the difference?

I’m confused by the tests. I thought it was the same thing, but then I’m told the new additions (puzzles and creative writing sections) are just for the London consortium tests. Please, can anyone explain to me? My dd is applying to two schools in the London consortium. And she is taking the ISEB exam at her primary school, so I’m not sure now if this is the correct test.

Does this help? Assuming your daughter is sitting for schools laid out here, then she will be sitting the new problem solving and creative and critical thinking pieces. This is different to the ISEB common pre-test, which these schools used last year, but they have moved to their own bespoke test this year for entry in Sept 23.

Assuming you have registered correctly for the consortium, she will be taking the correct test in early December.

Many thanks. So is this special new test taken on top of the ISEB test? So for example, if they take the ISEB test at school, do they take the additional bespoke test in addition separate?

It's not ISEB at all. It's their own test, which your daughter will take as one test with 2 parts, over 100 minutes.
