GDST/independent school bursaries

I am a single parent, my daughter's father pays me a set amount of maintenance (per CMS calculator).

Does anyone know how the GDST assess bursaries - would it only be my income or does his have to be included? We both have parental responsibility but I am the primary parent who takes most of the financial responsibility for her.

I don’t know for certain - but they have the freedom to decide on a case by case basis, depending on how strongly inclined they are to offer your child a place.

As your daughter’s father has PR is he likely to be willing to sign any consent forms? This can become a source of stress in itself.

Bursary assessors are generally reasonable people (and keen to welcome single parents). It might be best to simply phone the bursar and ask how they usually proceed.
