Stockport Secondary schools

Hi, we have recently moved to Heaton Chapel and my daughter will be starting Secondary next Sept - so choices have to be made this Oct. Our nearest school is Reddish Vale which I think has undergone big changes over the last few years. Does anyone have experience of this school? the other one I'm Stockport Academy. I'm going to both open evenings this month but would love any advice from parents already attending these schools. I am not necessarily looking for academic success here, just an all rounder school where she will hopefully feel safe and happy (the holy grail right?)

Have you considered Priestnall? I know the recent inspection was not as stellar as previous ones but it had (has?) a very good reputation in the area for many years. From my understanding behaviour there is much better than other stockport schools. I'd go SA over RV, but that's based on local knowledge from quite a few years ago and not sure since the changes at RV. Most important thing is what your dc feels about each place at the open evenings. Hopefully someone can give you more updated advice, good luck! The heatons are lovely areas and I'm sure your dc will settle right in wherever they choose.
