Omg , my child has just started this school yesterday , I knew that there would be congestion but it was crazy manic the minute I turned into Merryhill bumper to bumper at a standstill
I’m not sure that I can deal with this long term and surprised that there hasn’t been a serious accident at pick up time

It was very straightforward when I was there for morning drop off today. We mostly use the school bus in the afternoons but when we pick up it’s been fine due to staggered end times for different year groups. What time were you there, and what year is your DC in?

Mornings are no problem but I pick up at 4.10 and there was chaos queuing outside the entrance yesterday was worse all the way up merry hill

I’m seriously considering the school bus in the afternoons

The school buses are very good.

If you are picking up by car at a busy time I recommend parking in the sports centre car park over the road and walking across the crossing. Might help?

It will get less congested when DC start using the buses. In the early days parents of new students (of which there are a lot this term) are more likely to do dropoffs and pickups, but when DC are more settled many of them will be on the buses and the car traffic will improve a lot.
