Anyone’s DS sitting for Tiffin this year?

Can’t find any threads on the subject! I’m just feeling really anxious for DS now. Bless him he is so hard working and conscientious and more than bright enough (in my opinion) but just keeps making silly mistakes, especially in Maths, and not reading the question properly. Can’t get to the bottom of why. Just doing mocks now with Atom and he is getting good scores but it just seems like such a lot for these little boys. We are very happy with the alternative schools if he doesn’t get in and there’s no pressure other than that inherent in sitting a formal exam at the age of 10! I just love him so much and am wondering if we’ve done the right thing. Promised him a lovely chilled and relaxed Year 6 once the exam/s are done and dusted!

If you and he are finding the prep so pressured, is this really the right school for him where this could be the case all the way through.

I went to a super-selective grammar, but found exams easy and the pace suited me, but - even though she's clever - I wouldn't have sent my DD to a selective school in a million years as she'd have hated the pressure and demands.

She's at a high achieving comp, doing well and is a million times happier than I remember a lot of kids being at my grammar.

There are many routes to success and a good education.

@Teapot65 do some kids find the pressure too much? Do you regret sending your DS there?

The elevenplusexams website has a chat forum with thousands of posts on Tiffin.

The jury is still out on that my DS is a very able child working at a GCSE level 7 but wants to be level 9. And gets very anxious when waiting for his results. No matter what we do have not succeeded in reducing the pressure. For other children, this would be a great school for our son maybe not so much. I just don't know! He may have been the same anywhere
