Hi my child has been advised to retake the GCSE maths exam . I’m undecided as to whether I should get a 1.1 tutor or sign up for group evening sessions .
Has anyone used Mathnasium ? We’ve got one opening near us and I’m reading mixed reviews

Presumably they will also be getting teaching at school/college? This is to get up to a pass?
Never heard of Mathnasium but I would have thought at this stage a 1-1 tutor would be more effective.

(More effective as they can focus on his weaknesses whereas any group session won't be able to do that so well.)

I would look for a 1:1 tutor who specialises in retakes. At my ds’s school, there are kids who’ve taken the maths I/GCSE several times (keep failing). I think from your child’s point of view, it would be best to take it only one more time and make sure of a pass, by using a tutor who is experienced in this area.

Hi @Trixiebell06 I'm a qualified maths teacher and I've taught GCSE resit for 7 years so I'm pretty clued up in his area! I also tutor 1-to-1 and groups. Happy to discuss more with you
